On December 7, 1941, following the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor, the United States declared war on Japan. Three days later, after Germany and Italy declared war on it, the United States became fully engaged in the Second World War. 

Franklin Roosevelt was choosen president for the second time in 1945 right before his death. He led the United States through two crises, Great Depression and World War 2.

Ghandi was assassinated in 1948. He was a great spiritual leader and very political. He was against violence. He inspired movements all around the world.
